Preface

The operators of this website take the protection of private data seriously. Special attention to privacy when processing personal data is an important concern. Personal data is used in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act; the operators of this website undertake to maintain confidentiality. This website may contain links to websites of other providers to which this privacy policy does not extend.

Personal information

Personal data is information that can be used to determine the identity of a specific person. This includes information such as name, address, postal address and telephone number. Information that is not directly related to a person's identity (such as favourite websites or the number of users of a particular Internet service) is not included. In principle, this online service can be used without disclosing your identity.

When registering for a newsletter, users can enter personal information and interests in their individual user profile. It is up to each user to decide whether to provide this data. As the operators endeavour to collect as little personal data as possible for the use of the service, only an email address is required for registration.

When accessing the web pages, data (e.g. date, time and pages viewed) is stored on the server side. The evaluation is carried out by Plausible. No IP addresses or other user information is stored.

No personal data is used. We reserve the right to statistically analyse anonymised data sets.

We use personal data for the purposes of technical administration of the websites only to the extent necessary in each case. Beyond that, personal data is only stored if it is provided voluntarily.

Purposes of processing

  2. Compilation of usage statistics
  3. Detection, prevention and investigation of attacks on the website
  4. Responding to email and contact form enquiries from users
  5. Registration and dispatch of the newsletter

Legal basis for processing

The legal basis for the processing of personal data is our overriding legitimate interest (in accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation), which consists of achieving the purposes mentioned above in point 2.

The transfer of personal data

We will not transfer personal data to any recipients for the purposes mentioned above.

Storage duration

We only store personal data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes specified in point 2 and as permitted by applicable law. We also store your personal data for as long as statutory retention periods exist or limitation periods for potential legal claims have not yet expired.

Cookies and server logs

However, cookies may be used by third-party providers whose products are linked to our site (Vimeo, YouTube, etc.). In this case, users are notified and thereby agree to the terms and conditions of the third-party provider.

Visits are stored in logs on the server side for a short period of time. This serves to defend against attacks.

By subscribing to the newsletter, you agree to receive it and to the procedures described.

Contents of the newsletter

We send newsletters, emails and other electronic notifications containing promotional information (hereinafter referred to as ‘newsletters’) only with the consent of the recipients or with legal permission. If the content of the newsletter is specifically described during the registration process, this description is decisive for the consent of the users. We send information about our projects, events, campaigns or participatory activities, for example.

Double opt-in and logging

Registration for the newsletter is carried out using a so-called double opt-in procedure. This means that after registering, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your registration.

Newsletter registrations are logged in order to be able to verify the registration process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes storing the time of registration and confirmation, as well as the IP address. Changes to your stored data are also logged.

A link to unsubscribe from the newsletter can be found at the end of each newsletter.

Legal basis General Data Protection Regulation

In accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applicable from 25 May 2018, we hereby inform you that consent to the sending of email addresses is based on Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 7 GDPR as well as Section 7(2)(3) and (3) UWG (German Unfair Competition Act).

We are interested in using a user-friendly and secure newsletter system that serves our interests and meets the expectations of our users.

Under current law, you are entitled, among other things, to:

  5. In addition, for the purposes of data portability, you may request to receive the data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or, if technically possible, request that it be transferred to another controller.
  6. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your data is unlawful.
